Jig fishing first arrived in Finland in the early 90s and has been steadily growing in popularity ever since. Nowadays, jig fishing is a hot topic of conversation among all casting anglers as it is a very effective fishing method and very versatile. Using this method of fishing, it’s possible to catch fish such as perch, pike, or pike perch.

The concept of jig fishing is very broad and includes many different sub-styles and techniques, all of which we will explain to you during the trip. As a general rule, rubber lures of various sizes are most commonly used. In addition, different weights of lures can be used to fish all depths of water effectively. It should be noted that things that might seem insignificant at first, such as lure size, colouring, floating, weighting or line thickness, can turn a seemingly empty fishing spot into a real angler’s paradise.

Your fishing permit needs to be purchased separately, and while the guide can issue you permits for an additional cost, the easiest way to get a permit is to buy one yourself at https://www.eraluvat.fi/kalastus/kalastonhoitomaksu (in Finnish), which will cost you 6€ a day per adult. Under 18s and over 65s can fish without a permit
